Description There's currently a long-term contract / temporary position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Solid understanding of account reconciliation
