We are fully committed to developing new research tools to help define the mechanisms underlying cell function and disease, thereby broadly accelerating progress in biomedical research and medicine.Position Summary: CST is seeking to hire a Buyer in our Procurement Department who will be responsible for ensuring the availability of materials across the organization. This person will serve as the primary interface between CST and our suppliers and will coordinate with internal stakeholders to support their needs. Additional activities include evaluating and approving suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services provided.Responsibilities:- Process approved requisitions for materials and services into purchase orders
- Conduct vendor qualifications and negotiate favorable prices and terms for purchased goods and services
- Establish strong business relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve supplier quality and services issues
- Assist in leading strategic business reviews (SBRs) with suppliers
- Partner with business functions to generate a constant flow of cost savings ideas
- Support onsite vendor stockrooms and other vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs
- Work on Procurement process improvement projects and represent the Procurement team on cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree
- 1 year in a purchasing role
- Experience in purchasing, inventory management, and accounts payable practices including ERP systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft or Google Workspace tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to establish strong relationships both internally and externally
- Proven ability to know when to seek additional guidance as necessary
- Proven success in being highly accountable and meeting deadlines
- ISM or APICS training
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS)
- Experience using Oracle
- Experience using inventory and workflow management systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and other process improvement tools
- Experience in a Life Science company
