AECOM's Environmental business group is actively seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Field Scientist / Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our team in Chelmsford, MA or Rocky, Hill, CT.In this role the person will work with a team of talented environmental professionals and apply their academic knowledge in the environmental field. The successful person will have the ability to work independently on selected smaller projects or tasks, as well as part of a collaborative team on various larger projects.  AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The position may also include field task management, data analysis, and report writing. The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:Assisting in jurisdictional wetland delineations in MA, CT and other New England StatesHabitat/plant community assessment and related natural resources field workPermitting supportUtilizing scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problemsInterpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure environmental complianceSolving problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignmentsMust be able to effectively work in tandem with program and project managers, clients, and other disciplines within AECOMParticipates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectivesConducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sourcesPerforms inspections and tests to ensure complianceParticipates in developing corrective measures and proceduresFormulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation
