Barrett M. Keating Conservators, a furniture conservation studio located in N. Falmouth, Massachusetts, is hiring for the position of an Intern/Assistant Furniture Conservator. Duties include: conservation and restoration of a wide range of American and European furniture and wooden artifacts. Applicant will be involved in digital photography, condition reports, collections surveys and collections management. The studio specializes in the treatments of oriental lacquer, upholstery conservation, gilding and polychrome conservation. participation in collections surveys and collections management projects; digital photography; and assistance with educational workshops as needed. Applicant must have excellent hand skills, artistic sensibilities, and an interest in conservation. Prior furniture conservation experience is preferred, but not necessary. Bachelors Degree is desired, plus some furniture experience. This is a part time position with a flexible schedule and the possibility of additional hours.
