Supervise production in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ensure smooth production operation during shift. Strengthen vendor relationships and develop new partnerships with local fisherman.

Understanding the importance of the roll a vendor/fisherman has to our operations. They are to be treated with respect, and are processed as efficiently as possible.

Development of knowledge of product quality, product nuance (e.g. what makes a “good” oyster vs a B grade oyster)

Proficiency in Receiving

o Filling out transaction slips

o Entering inventory into computer w/ accurate vendor pricing

o Printing receiving tags

o Ensuring all products have grade sheets attached to them

o Tagging product correctly

o Placing product correctly in designated area (e.g. cooler/freezer/tanks)

Develop a complete understanding of the importance for getting product received, counted and adjusted and to accounts payable in a timely manner for payment.

Proficiency in printing Manifests

o Correctly noting box count and weights on manifests

Printing Invoices for customers

Ensuring on hand inventory is properly rotated, tagged and accounted for.

Perform physical inventory

o Update on-hand inventory

o Reconcile ‘lost’ inventory

Proficiency in filling out shipping logs accurately and assembling paperwork for next day driver

Proficiency in efficiently packing by product for orders for next day (not by route) thereby reducing the number of times that you ‘touch’ a product.

Proficiency in loading truck properly according to route

Ability to ‘spot red flags’ with orders and get clarification from appropriate person (e.g. pieces vs 100 ct UOM, Fillet vs whole etc).

Proficiency in packing and order accuracy (checking for accuracy as others pack orders as well as your own accuracy)

Have a complete proficiency with inventory receipt adjustments and stock adjustments and knowing the difference between them and when to do one vs. the other

Proficiency in order entry and being able to adjust existing orders as necessary and entering new orders as necessary.

Proficiency in accurately “picking” for orders in sea touch.

Proficiency in accurately “picking” for orders out of walk in/freezer/tanks ensuring proper lot rotation

Proficiency in managing wet-store dates and printing tags/labels accurately

Proficiency in knowledge of WSC Vibrio Protocols

Monitor production to ensure that quality, productivity, and cost standards are maintained

Maintain and continuously improve the quality of our products and responsiveness to our customers’ needs as directed.

Maintain and enforce GMP standards

Production productivity will include but not limited to the functions of: Receiving, Receiving inspection, preparing finished goods in accordance with customer’s specifications, Selecting the proper substitutions in the case of temporary out-of-stocks, Encourage Production team to maximize yields, prevent questionable product from being sent to customers, Prioritize the usage of product based on remaining shelf life, Ensure the product is packed correctly, Product handling to minimize product distress, Communicate issues to other departments on a timely basis, Work-In-Process inventory control, Product processing, Picking and packing, Ensure department is clean and sanitary, Production record keeping.

Understand and utilize all communication standard operating procedures I.E logs, daily reports etc. in accordance with company procedures.

Coordinating the logistics for fishermen/ boat pickups including communication with operations to schedule proper staffing for offloading , receiving, and processing

Deliver and pick up products in WSC vehicles

Ensuring proper protocols are followed and paperwork is accurate/ complete

Work effectively with purchasing and sales on products

Developing new sources for products and growing relationships with suppliers

Develop existing customer base and expand sales

QUALIFICATIONS:

A self-motivated individual

Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and follow through skills that can achieve results by working through others

Familiar with food safety and food handling issues; HACCP certification is a plus

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software; experience with computer report generation and general computer database usage a plus

Strong decision making skills and attention to detail

Must be a self-starter and highly organized with interpersonal skills

Ability to multi-task and set priorities within the department.

Supervisory experience in food-processing or food packaging a plus

Knowledge of Seafood product a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment for this position will be a refrigerated production and processing environment where seafood is received, stored in coolers and freezers, processed, packaged and distributed via trucks to the Company’s customers.

WORK HOURS: Specific work hours for this position will be determined by the Production manager, and will vary at times due to production needs
