The Barley Neck Inn is looking to hire for the Summer Season! Looking for experienced Grill & Saute positions! We will need at least 1 full time position filled. Could be 1 station full time or a rounds position.
Locals preferred.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our food. If you want to cut corners this is not the place for you.
Ideal candidates are experienced, but still hungry & looking to grow.
If you've been cooking for a few years and can hold your own on the line but want to learn more about cuisine, cooking techniques, how to run a kitchen, or even how to open your own restaurant we can help.
If you've been wanting to make specials but haven't been able to, you will be given an opportunity to prove yourself.

What to expect:
On grill:
-grilling burgers and steaks to temp
-cooking shrimp, salmon, chicken for salads on flat top
-plating various grill entrees
-setting up mise en place
-cleaning flat top at the end of the night
-more menu mix than saute, you'll be busy with proteins.
On saute:
-must be able to work 5+ burners at once. You're going to have to put out 30-40 pickups an hour in the summer.
-every pan sauce must be tasted every time for salt,acid etc.
-more knife work than grill on mice en place.
-mostly pasta entrees + risotto
-sauteed veg sides
We're not fine dining but we want the food and the guest experience to be exceptional. We want to be best-in-class for casual dining on the cape. We want our boh team to be rock stars that care about the product they put out, and are actively trying to build their reputation in the industry.
