Job Summary:
PB Boulangerie Bistro is seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will work directly with Michelin Starred Chefs Philippe Rispoli and David Malbequi, and you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely manner. This position is key to delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients, sauces, and dishes according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
Cooking: Cook food items to order, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
Station Setup: Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen station for cooking (grill, fry, sauté, etc.).
Order Execution: Follow specific cooking instructions for each order, ensuring the timely delivery of food to servers.
Inventory Management: Assist with stocking and maintaining kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper inventory control.
Cleanliness and Safety: Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations, including proper food storage, cleaning schedules, and the maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks and sous chefs, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes meet restaurant standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
Communication: Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficiency and to resolve any issues that may arise.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a line cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
Excellent knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment.
Ability to multitask and work well within a team.
Strong attention to detail, with a focus on consistency and quality.
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to work in a hot, noisy, and fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule required; including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant needs.
