Menauhant Yacht Club is looking for a head sailing instructor for the summer of 2025. The head sailing instructor oversees a sailing staff of approximately 4 other instructors. We offer eight levels of instruction- 2 levels of Turnabouts, 3 levels of Opti, and 3 levels of 420. Sailing classes are two or two-and-a-half hours long. We're looking for the head sailing instructor to organize and run classes where students learn basic sailing skills, have fun, and become lifelong competent sailors with a focus on safety.
Menauhant is a small, close-knit community with multi-generational families who have grown up in this quaint ocean-front location. The Junior Program is only available to families who are in-residence, in Menauhant. This is a very safe, family-oriented community with dirt roads, private beaches, and views of Martha's Vineyard.
There are opportunities for the head sailing instructor to offer private sailing instruction outside of the normal work day and/or on weekends, to further increase earning potential.
Housing is not included with this position, but the club will assist, if needed.
Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Job Requirements:
Level 1 required, Level 2 preferred.
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, with 45 min. off for lunch.
Ability to organize small-scale races in our community 3 to 4 Sundays and take some of our sailors to local regattas.
Attend annual meeting and two Jr. Awards ceremonies (1-2 hours each) in the evening.
