We seek individuals with proven competencies and strong character to help lead our organization now and into the future.How will you make an impact?The Senior Next Generation Sequencing Technical Sales Specialist (Sr. NGS TSS) will have strong sales, technical, and product expertise and will lead the sales process for Ion Torrent platforms in the research and translational markets (e.g. inherited disease, immunology, microbial, etc.).The Sr. NGS Technical Sales Specialist will support Ion Torrent Key Opinion Leaders success and develop high level relationships with the purpose of making these engagements successful as positive Ion Torrent references in the market.They will ensure tight alignment with the Business Unit and maintain a level of communication with the product teams focused on training needs, market feedback, and product development input.What will you do?
Develop and lead a business plan for the territory to meet or exceed goals agreed upon with commercial management.
Consistently and accurately lead sales processes (e.g. forecasting, pipeline management, prospecting) using Salesforce and other designated IT tools.
Develop and maintain current knowledge of next generation sequencing markets, products, and buying practices required to effectively go for in the assigned territory.
Apply both product and application knowledge to successfully conduct consultative and strategic selling presentations.
Understand customer goals, priorities, and challenges such that company solutions are best positioned to address customer needs.
Work effectively in a matrixed team environment.
Ability to call within various levels of an organization including the lab, procurement, legal, middle management and C suite leadership.
Actively prospect and develop sales funnel in this growing and evolving marketplace in both new and existing accounts across the geography.
Develops and leads a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon with Thermo Fisher Scientific commercial management for the territory.
How will you get here?Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience.
5+ years of technical/sales experience in Life Sciences preferred.
Extensive knowledge of sequencing technologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Highly motivated and accepts an ambitious and exciting work environment.
Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Sales Force CRM and Microsoft teams experience
Must have a valid driving license
Able to lawfully work in USA
50% Travel
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.
Capital Sales experience is desirable.
Knowledge of accounts in territory is preferred.
