Description Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic biotech client looking for a Purchasing Specialist. The Purchasing Specialist is predominately responsible for managing vendor relationships between multiple vendors. In order to be successful in this position excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required. The ideal Purchasing Specialist will have at minimum 3 years of experience and a desire to advance their career with a rapidly growing firm. This position requires a 3 days a week on site at their Cambridge, and/or Waltham MA office and 2 days can be remote. Your responsibilities in this role
Complete detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services
Inquire about cost proposals and negotiate prices and contracts
Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
Prepare and organize purchase orders
Track levels of inventory and own purchasing needs
Support maintenance of records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
Look into supplier profiles and examine offers
Requirements
3+ years of procurement experience
Must have professional customer service skills while working with vendors and suppliers
Experience with high volume data entry
