Intern – Autonomous Ultrasound AI Research – Cambridge, MA – Summer 2024Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an MS or PhD to participate in paid intern opportunities. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.Your role:

Develop novel algorithms in trajectory prediction using reinforcement learning and deep learning methods

Prepare and process ultrasound data as well as data obtained from tracking systems

Conduct extensive validation of the proposed algorithms

Publish research in conferences and journals

Taking the lead on part of a challenging research project and collaborating with a team of scientists

Exploration of cutting-edge Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Imitation Learning (IL) algorithms on ultrasound images

Developing and validating novel human-machine interaction using RL/IL in real-time application

Designing and training networks on clinical data and evaluating performance

Working with advanced imaging systems and modalities (e.g. advanced 3D/4D ultrasound)

Reporting results in the form of technical documentations and presentations

You're the right fit if:

Computer Science / Robotics/ Electrical / Biomedical / Mechanical Engineering or Mathematics students are welcome to apply. MS or PhD candidates are preferred

Must have hands on experience with reinforcement learning, computer vision and 3D reconstruction techniques

Extensive experience with deep learning tools and frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch etc.)

Knowledge of image processing tools and algorithms; experience with medical imaging and/or interventional technologies is a plus

Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, C Ability to work within a team environment and should be self-motivated with the ability to plan and execute

Ability to communicate in English effectively, both written and verbal
