Job Description

Director of Finance, School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (SHASS), will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function; be responsible for providing leadership in financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and continuous improvement of the financial and planning abilities of the school's stakeholders; perform financial forecasting and modeling to support decision making processes in the Dean’s Office; lead the annual budget process and create, manage, and support technical solutions to improve the school’s ability to practice forward looking financial stewardship. Job RequirementsREQUIRED: bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with experience in an administrative or management position; demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to promote team-building and facilitate consensus; ability to integrate new concepts, practices, guidelines, policies, and emerging technologies into strategic planning and new business methods and manage multiple conflicting and changing priorities; attention to detail and accuracy, problem-solving, coaching, goal-setting, and decision-making skills; robust interpersonal, communication, analysis, and organizational skills; advanced knowledge of Excel, SAP, or similar accounting packages, and relational database skills; ability to learn changing technologies, work both independently and as part of a team, interact with a diverse set of school stakeholders, and handle deadlines and sensitive situations with composure, tact, and diplomacy; experience supervising staff, including recruiting and selecting staff, as well as performance management and development.
