About This Role  Effective use of disruptive technologies is central to Biogen’s strategy, focusing on human genomics, digital technologies, and advanced analytics to support new medicine discovery and development. The Digital Lab Informatics team in Cambridge, MA, searches for a Cloud Engineer - Bioinformatics to enhance research efforts. This role involves designing, testing, and deploying technologies for dry lab processes, building AWS infrastructure, and developing analytical pipelines. The position requires collaboration with vendors, scientists, IT professionals, software developers, and engineers, aiming to manage large scientific datasets and deliver software aiding scientists in drug development. Additionally, the role includes preparing presentations and technical documents, contributing significant value to the business by advancing disease understanding and therapies. This position reports to the Digital Lab Informatics team and is integral to the overall business structure. What You’ll Do  Collaborate with scientists to address software needs Evaluate and implement AWS services and vendor software Build web application features for data discovery Develop bioinformatics tools and pipelines for genomics Design and implement workflows for petabyte-scale scientific datasets Develop data visualization tools for insight generation Follow best practices in software lifecycle management Present at meetings and conferences Direct and mentor interns and contractors Who You Are  You are a skilled Cloud Engineer with a bioinformatics background and experience managing large scientific datasets on AWS. You are passionate about new technologies and aim to innovate drug development by enhancing scientists' work.
