POSITION SUMMARY: The Resident Services Associate/Driver will be responsible for driving residents to the appointed destinations, ensuring the safety of the resident(s), knowing the protocol for emergencies, and being familiar with the local area and adjacent towns. When there is no driving assignment, the associate is responsible for assisting in other areas as needed. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Greet residents with a friendly smile, provide a hand/arm as needed to help the resident in and out of the car

· Maintain confidentiality of resident care information to assure resident rights are protected

· Assist with resident daily requests – Provide Lasell Village information for classes, events etc.

· Perform Resident Services daily routine, driving, delivery of groceries/packages, copy making, other additional tasks

· Experience driving a (14) passenger shuttle bus for weekly scheduled grocery store trips and/or scheduled OFF CAMPUS events - No CDL required

· Retrieve transportation messages, return calls as needed, and book appointments as requested

· Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and willingness to learn new applications is a plus

· Maintain all safety rules, laws of the road, seatbelts, hands free cell phone driving

· Keep car in a clean and tidy condition, vehicle daily inspection, gas tank is at least half-full upon return to the Village at the end of the day

· Inform Manager of any problems with vehicle

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Valid U.S. driver’s license with good driving record; drivers will need to produce an official driving record annually

· Must have high school diploma / GED

· Strong customer service skills

· Able to multi task in a busy department setting

· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language

· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

· Cheerful demeanor - Always demonstrate tact when conversing with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and the public

· Thrive in a team environment and work well with others
