Fire Alarm Technician and Fire Alarm apprentices

We are seeking talented technicians to work from our branch in Needham, Massachusetts. We need experienced and entry-level fire alarm systems technicians and Fire Alarm apprentices.

Candidates must have: A Massachusetts Systems Technician “D” license or Journeyman “B” license, or the equivalent in other states. You will be proficient with residential and commercial security systems installation, programming and service, including but not limited to: Burglar Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems, Video Systems, Intercom Systems, and networking. You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a company vehicle. Backgrounds checks are required.

The job: You will independently perform detailed installation, programming, testing, inspection and repair of fire systems according to manufacturer and system specifications using Advanced Signal Corporation protocols. You will be an on-site project lead making sure timelines and goals are met. You will perform record of completion and testing of fire systems with associated NFPA documents.

You will inspect the quality of work done by others to ensure it meets company standards and recommend quality process improvements. You will also train customers in fire systems operation and respond to customer questions or requests. You will be a great troubleshooter, solving problems and completing repairs

Duties and Responsibilities for Experienced Technicians:

Problem Solving/Consulting lead go-to person for all our technicians

Security Systems professional highly proficient with installing integrated systems.

Monitors quality of installation work performed at customer site to ensure the highest quality standard and safety.

Maintain accurate records of all installation jobs. Provide accurate, detailed and timely paperwork and reports to management.

Build and maintain working relations with the sales staff.

Provide phone support for installation team.

Assist Installation Manager in the ongoing training of new and existing installation technicians.

Aid Field Supervisors with performance assessment and capability of technical staff.

Assist in formulating policy, procedures and guidelines that would further the growth, development and professionalism of the installation department with a goal of superior customer service and satisfaction.

Investigate troublesome accounts and advise the sales/customer service department of possible system upgrades.

Must be able to speak knowledgably to customers and employees. Demonstrating proper business ethics to a high degree of customer service while confidentiality maintaining relationships with customers and employees.

Must be able to drive a company vehicle adhere to policy and maintain vehicle.

Additional Duties:

Research and obtain information on position specific training opportunities.

Responsible for handling senior technician on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis.

Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance and or/Massachusetts security clearance.

Fire Alarm apprentices Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements

High school diploma

Eagerness to learn electrical trade, codes, schematics and blueprint reading skills.

Valid driver’s license

Reliable transportation.

Completion of an electrician program at a vocational school or an electrician apprenticeship is a plus.

Current electrician license

2+ years of electrician experience preferred.

Proficient with standard industry tools and techniques

Able to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures.

Ability to lead a team and run a project from start to finish.

Personal vehicle for the trial period with the company.

Assist and follow instructions.

Prepare and clean work areas.

Carry and deliver materials.

Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment.

Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform different tasks.

Learn and follow safety codes and building regulations.
