WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Your strong attention to detail and can-do attitude will bring great value to our Computer & Network Support practice. We respond to a variety of customer requests regarding desktop software, email, networking, phone systems, printers, and the like. You’ll be documenting requests, solving problems, collaborating with other team members, and following up with each customer. You’ll also be writing up solutions and procedures in our knowledge base.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
You’ll work mainly in our Boxboro, MA office, as well as occasional visits to local customer sites. Once you are trained in all the basics, we can discuss options to work from home, however, this is not a primary feature of this job.
A valid driver’s license, a good driving record and a reliable vehicle are required.
Hours and schedule: The ideal schedule would be 3 days a week in the mornings. However, we will be flexible and work out a good schedule that works for everyone. Overall we would be looking at about 15-20 hours per week to start, with more hours possible later on.
Training is provided in many areas.
TYPICAL DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
Work with customers via our service desk and by phone to clarify inbound requests
Maintain an inventory of customer hardware and software
Troubleshoot problems related to email, software, internet, computers and more
Install and maintain desktop and laptop computers
Work closely with customers and colleagues to solve issues
Keep our knowledge base up to date
Visit customer sites (locally) as needed
Assisting other departments with varied tasks
DESIRED SKILLS AND DEMEANOR
Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English
Good knowledge of Windows 10 / 11 including installation and maintenance
Basic knowledge of local area networks (LANs) and how they work
Experience with desktop application support such as Outlook and Microsoft 365
Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable placing and receiving phone calls
Self motivated and a quick learner
Ability to carefully follow detailed procedures, and to document existing procedures
Comfortable with rapidly changing priorities
Friendly, considerate, positive and helpful attitude
Patience and skill working with customers
