At Soma Salon and Spa AVEDA, we welcome our team members into a modern, Award-winning salon founded on the principles of beauty and wellness working hand in hand. As an Aveda concept salon, we offer our team members in-salon world-class hair color education by Aveda's Global Educators.
Along with a flexible schedule in a team-oriented setting, we offer rapid professional development and advancement opportunities. We train all of our Assistants and help teach skills in formulating Aveda hair color and cutting techniques. Our goal is to grow our Assistants into the best stylists they can be.
This role is a hybrid role of both Salon Assistant and Front Desk Reception responsibilities. This offers exposure to both customer service as well as hair color/cutting techniques.
[RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE]:
A flexible schedule, which may include days, evenings, and weekends.
Provide support to all team members and maintaining client flow.
Greet guests in a professional manner.
Perform shampoos and blowdries on guests.
Maintain salon cleanliness at all times.
Contribute and manage inventory of supplies for salon.
Must have excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
Provide the highest level of customer service, while delivering professional and consistent quality of services to guests.
Stay up to date with Aveda's seasonal launches and collections.
Eager to continuously learn, grow, and ask questions.
Be a team member who can help in a fast-paced environment.
Is versatile with the changing needs of the salon.
Maintain a well-groomed look in line with Soma’s modern brand.
Participate in training, education and meetings as required.
Handle phone calls and inquiries about appointments
Check guests in and out at the beginning and end of their service
Book guests for appointments

[REQUIREMENTS]:
-Must be currently enrolled in Cosmetology / Barber School OR hold a valid Massachusetts Cosmetology / Barber License
