This position is responsible for procurement of materials to meet production requirements and schedules as well as coordinating activities with suppliers/vendors to include purchase order terms and delivery. Responsible for maintenance and purchasing of in-house vendor-controlled inventories and KANBAN system and well as receiving duties on occasion. Operating in service to other departments to ensure that manufacturing goes uninterrupted. This position is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow and move vertically within our Supply Chain organization, receive training and certifications, as well as cross train with other departments.

Responsibilities
- Communicate and work effectively with all members of the purchasing team as well as all departments across the company in addition to other external contacts.
- Quote and purchase released materials assigned to you in the Quest ERP system. Schedule material as per Job Schedule and budget alert person releasing product if you cannot meet schedule.
- Maintain accurate delivery dates and pricing to ensure reports can be relied upon to be accurate for others using the information.
Work closely with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices, review receiving travelers and resolve other month-end discrepancies.
- Expedite past due material and update due dates. Take action on any dates that affect Production Schedule.
- Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes with the Quality Department as well as recalls for Material released and on order.
- Evaluate, enhance and utilize ERP reporting tools to improve purchasing and inventory controls.
- Continue to seek opportunities to improve the purchasing function and relationship within the manufacturing setting. Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects.
- Accept other assignments within the Supply Chain group as required.
- Keep both digital and physical spaces organized and stay within standard operating procedures.
Skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret report data to make decisions on procuring components.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and communicate effectively with team members and vendors.

- Knowledge of bill of material construction and how they affect the company processes.
- Knowledge in material flow and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel skills, strength in written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to become a subject matter expert in ERP system.
EDUCATION:
Post high school and/or Bachelor’s Degree in a business/supply chain preferred.
Language skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality charts and graphs; and technical data for the purposes of ensuring adherence to quality standards and disciplines
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to take technical data and information and simplify for others to use and understand who may not have a technical background
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from small and large groups
MATHEMATICAL & REASONING ABILITY
Ability to use key mathematical applications and analyze performance data trends; Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving and decision-making tools and methods; Analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and provide solutions; identify problems, collect information, establish facts, and suggest solutions; develop and support conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Considerable time will be spent in support of the manufacturing production process and related aspects of the business. Frequent communication (verbal and listening), standing, reaching, walking, climbing stairs, and light lifting is required. Vision abilities required by this job include close-up reading and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases, welding flash, light machinery, abd occasional wet floors. Safety glasses and other required protection are required to be worn when out in the manufacturing area.
