Operations assistant at the Free Software Foundation (part-time)

The Free Software Foundation (FSF), a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) charity

with a worldwide mission to protect computer user freedom, seeks a

motivated and talented Boston-based individual to be our operations

assistant.

Reporting to the executive director (ED), the operations assistant

(OA) provides administrative support to the FSF's activities and works

mainly in coordination with the operations team. The ideal candidate

is detail-oriented, responsible, self-motivated, and enjoys

operations.

### Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinating the shop, monitoring inventory and related office supplies, and handling processing and shipping of all orders.

Shipping inventory as requested to support events, speeches and conferences.

Data entry of donations, membership dues, and credit card payments.

Bank deposits.

Mail pickup, processing and handling of correspondence at the FSF office.

Recruiting and coordinating in-person and remote volunteers to support the above functions.

Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

The FSF is a mature but growing organization that works globally and

seeks to have its materials distributed in as many languages as

possible; as such, multilingual candidates will have an advantage. We

### Location and working environment

The OA is required to work on-site at the FSF's downtown Boston

office. With our small staff, each person makes a clear

### Benefits and salary

This non-exempt, hourly job is a union position with a rate fixed of

$32.95 per hour, with an expectation of up to twelve (12) hours per

week. Benefits (pro-rated) include:
