Responsibilities:
The biggest responsibility of a Machinist is to make parts that fully meet all required specifications. To achieve this primary goal, they typically perform the following Machinist job duties:
Familiarity with software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes and milling machines
Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift
Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
Reviewing samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
Planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
Taking measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping
Experience:
Manual Lathe and CNC machining
Machining: 1 year (Preferred)
Mazak Programming a plus
Ability to use a variety of inspection equipment.
Mastercam experience a plus
High Temp Alloys
Deburring and cleaning of parts as needed.
Education:
High School diploma or GED or equivalent courses and certifications.
