Hiring Maintenance Mechanic 3 in Chelsea, MA

Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair complex industrial equipment (mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC systems).

Diagnose and fix equipment failures using maintenance schedules, diagrams, sketches, and manuals.

Install and upgrade manufacturing and facility equipment.

Recommend design changes for optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems.

Respond to maintenance team and operations requests.

Perform preventive maintenance using various tools.

Estimate labor and equipment costs, prepare requisitions, and keep maintenance records.

Complete work order requisitions and other administrative tasks.

Train and mentor peers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Proven ability to solve complex equipment and facility issues in an industrial environment.

Hands-on problem solver with a high sense of urgency.

Ability to anticipate problems and provide contingency plans.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Sound judgment.

Education and Experience:

At least 5 years of experience as an industrial equipment mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills.

Familiar with conveying systems, inkjet printers, vacuum parking equipment, label applicators, relays, 3-phase motors, drives, sensor pumps, and PLC systems.

Able to diagnose equipment failures related to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and PLCs.

Strong electro-mechanical and industrial maintenance skills.

Good mathematical skills.

Able to learn and use the Maintenance Connection CMMS system.

Must provide own tools; specialty tools available onsite.

Preferred: Skills in computer/HMI and PLC; training available.

Proficient in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Knowledge of food manufacturing industry maintenance is highly desired.

Language Skills:

Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals.

Able to write technical documents and procedures.

Knowledge of production and design engineering standards.

Reasoning Ability:

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook).

Able to use/learn a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to use hands, reach with arms, talk, and hear.

Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, and smell.

Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

Typically loud plant environment.

Regular exposure to refrigerated and wet conditions.
