Job Title: Automation Mechanical Technician

Department: Production

Reports to: Automation Service Supervisor

Effective Date: 5/26/2024

Shift: M-F 6am-2:30p

Duties/Responsibilities:

Inspects automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality

Calibrates, troubleshoots, and performs maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment

Prioritizes and self-schedules maintenance work around production activities

Ensures quality standards are always met

Assists in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications

Collaborates with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues

Conducts routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards

Assists in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures

Assists in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks

Maintains accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies

Adheres to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment

Required Skills/Abilities:

Basic understanding of automation systems including but not limited to process control, instrumentation, and servo driven ladder logic

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively

Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Vocational/Trade training or A.S in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)

Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements

Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed
