Role Summary
The Cleaning Crew Member is responsible for maintaining a sanitary clinical environment, including patient exam rooms, procedure areas, restrooms, staff break rooms, and common areas. This position requires strict adherence to infection control protocols and attention to detail to ensure the safety and comfort of our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Floors (All Areas):
Sweep, vacuum, and mop using appropriate disinfectants – Daily
Perform high-speed buffing of LVT floors – Monthly
Strip, seal, and polish LVT/vinyl flooring, including floor finish application – Bi-annually
Trash Removal:
Empty all trash bins, replace liners, and remove waste from the premises – Daily
Restrooms:
Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including sinks, toilets, stalls, mirrors, and floors – Daily
Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers – Daily
Windows (Interior):
Clean all interior-facing windows and glass surfaces, including entry doors and partitions – Weekly
Windows (Exterior):
Clean exterior windows accessible from ground level – Monthly
Exam and Treatment Rooms:
Wipe and disinfect all horizontal surfaces, including exam chairs, counters, and door handles – Daily
Procedure Rooms:
Clean and disinfect floors, counters, surgical lights, stools, and all high-touch surfaces – Daily
Spot clean walls and vertical surfaces – Weekly
PACU/Recovery Area:
Clean and disinfect stretchers, monitor stands, bedside counters, floors, and the exterior contact surfaces of privacy curtains – Daily
Waiting Area:
Dust all surfaces, wipe down furniture, and sanitize high-touch areas – Daily
Offices and Workspaces:
Dust and wipe desks (if cleared), empty trash bins, vacuum and/or mop floors – Daily
Break Room/Kitchenette:
Clean countertops, sinks, and appliance exteriors; remove trash – Daily
High-Touch Surfaces (All Areas):
Disinfect doorknobs, light switches, elevator buttons, and hand railings – Daily
Air Vents and HVAC Grilles:
Dust all accessible vents and HVAC grilles – Monthly
Wall Spot Cleaning:
Spot clean walls and baseboards as needed – Weekly
Requirements
Prior professional cleaning experience required; healthcare or medical office experience preferred
Familiarity with infection control and OSHA regulations strongly preferred
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to consistently work weekday
Ability to work independently and complete tasks thoroughly within a time-sensitive setting
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
Ability to read and understand instructions and safety information in English
Must provide certificate of insurance via email
Must provide 2 references of current clients, healthcare clients preferred
Compensation & Work Conditions
Daily rate: $60-80 for 3 hours of cleaning service depending on experience
Differential Pay: Available for weekend or holiday coverage, if requested
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday initially with potential for increase in number of days in near future
Benefits: Not included for this per diem role
Hours: After hours cleaning starting no earlier than 5pm with flexibility for start/end time
Equipment and cleaning supplies provided
Location: Terra Fertility – Dedham (with potential travel to other Greater Boston sites)
