Temple Shalom, Medford Jewish Community Center, is seeking a full time custodian to work Monday through Friday from 6am to 2pm (40hr/wk), compensated at $20-27 hourly depending on experience. Benefits include 2 weeks paid vacation and the following paid holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas eve/day.
Responsibilities include:
Weekly cleaning of main building including mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathrooms, and dusting.
Daily cleaning of school/camp building including mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathrooms, and dusting.
Break down and set up tables and chairs each week as required for each week’s events.
Take weekly inventory of supplies.
Position includes providing custodial support for a nursery school program that runs during the school year and a summer camp that runs in the summer.
Must be able to twice a year move nursery school furniture and boxes in and out of storage. During winter must be able to clear paths of snow using a snow blower and shovel. Candidate option for overtime in the event of off-hours storms.
Position also includes occasional light maintenance, such as touch up painting, assembling bookshelves, changing light bulbs.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles regularly, and set out trash for weekly pickup.
Wax and buff linoleum floors twice a year.
Report any maintenance issues needed.
Requirements:
Candidate should be self motivated, responsible, and work well with others.
CORI/SORI - Must successfully clear a Criminal Offenders Record Information check
Ability to communicate and follow instructions in English.
Ability to complete physical tasks including moving furniture, using a snowblower, and working on a ladder. Lift/carry/push weights up to 50 lbs.
