Small perio practice in Mansfield MA is seeking a part time dental assistant.
The office is open on Mondays and Tuesdays 8 AM to 5 PM. We also open 1-2 Fridays a month (no Fridays in the summer). We are about 0.5 mile from the MBTA Commuter Train.
Duties include:
-Assisting the doctor during patient visits (periodontal surgery, implants, exams, SRP, etc).
-Providing post op and oral hygiene instructions to patients.
-Taking radiographs and photos.
-Entering existing restorations and treatment plans into Dentrix.
-Setting up, breaking down, and disinfecting treatment rooms after each patient visit.
-Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies.
-Weekly and monthly maintenance of dental equipment.
-Obtaining radiographs from referring offices.
-Being able to help out at the front desk would be great.
Candidates must have a current MA Certified Dental Assistant license and be eligible to work in the US.
The office was the previous owner’s satellite office. We have a very small team (one periodontist, one certified dental assistant [this position], one RDH position and one patient coordinator) and 3 operatories. We prefer someone who is reliable, has a dependable car, can work independently, is a leader, is kind and has a positive attitude.
To recap the office is only open on Mondays and Tuesdays and the hours are 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM, lunch is 1-2. We try to fill 1 or 2 Fridays a month, which might not be full days. It would be ideal to have one assistant at least for Mondays and Tuesdays. If the candidate is not available for some Fridays, we understand and would consider them for Mondays and Tuesdays only. We do not fill all Fridays which is why Friday hours are not guaranteed.
