About the PositionAs a Data Analyst you will work on our product development team developing and prototyping analyses, algorithms and queries that power our SaaS products. Your work will include implementing and testing algorithms such as career pathway recommendations for job seekers and recommendations to universities about which new programs they should launch, building product prototypes of in business intelligence tools, and writing product requirements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work unique datasets that provide novel insights into today’s dynamic job market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manipulating, validating, and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, Python, and other analytical tools to develop insights about emerging trends in the labor market.
  • Researching, organizing, and manipulating government data sets for use within products.
  • Apply machine learning and statistical methods on massive job market data sets in various applications.
  • Creating visualizations of complex data sets for ease of understanding.
  • Delivering oral presentations to clients summarizing research findings.
  • Writing software requirements and functional specifications.

Qualifications:The ideal candidate is highly professional, intelligent, mature, and organized. S/he is able to work independently, multitask, and anticipate requests, and enjoys working in a busy, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.Other requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics, statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • Experience manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency required in at least one of the following statistical analysis/data management tools: SQL and R/Python.
  • Practical experience in applying Statistics or Machine Learning methodologies to large data sets.
  • Ability to explore data looking for insightful or surprising findings and conclusions
  • Highly detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.
  • Intense intellectual curiosity.
