Situated on the picturesque Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts, the Watertown Yacht Club welcomes both seasoned sailors and curious novices. Known as the "working person's yacht club" of Massachusetts Bay, it prides itself on its relaxed atmosphere and familial setting. Watertown Yacht Club is the perfect place to be a steward because of our friendly members, closeness to Boston, and compact grounds and docks.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and friendly individual to serve as the summer steward of the Watertown Yacht Club. The steward is responsible for the care and maintenance of the club house, common areas, grounds, and docks. The steward will work closely with our head of house, training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of the clubhouse, grounds, and docks.

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.

Help with setup for events and club functions.

Inspect docks and floats.

Report any maintenance issues to the designated staff.

Assist with setting up and breaking down for events.

Stock and maintain supplies for the clubhouse, bar, and galley (if applicable). Keep track of inventory and report to programs directors when supplies are running low.

Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests.

Qualifications

Preferable boating experience or experience at marinas, yacht clubs, sailing programs, etc.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality service.

Ability to lift and carry moderate weights.

First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
