At A&J King we work early hours as bakeries are busy in the morning, so if you’re an early bird this job may be for you!
We are a local family-owned bakery. We use as many local and seasonal products as we can to support our local farms and our surrounding community. This means that while you may not see any apple products during the spring months, you’ll have the best local apple tarts in the area come fall. We even have our own mill and have started milling our own flour!
Previous experience working in food service is a plus and if you have coffee shop/bakery experience even better!
We are hiring for 3-4 shifts per week, Saturdays and Sundays are a must. 16-25 hours per week.
Basic responsibilities include:
Ability to interface positively with customers to create a welcoming environment.
Using a register to accurately take orders and process money.
Taking customer orders in person or over the phone.
Packing pastries and bread carefully so that they get to their destination safely.
Communicating with coworkers to pack orders in a team environment.
Giving customers recommendations for purchases.
Making coffee.
Keeping the café clean during shift and after closing. (Wiping tables, changing trashes, sweeping, mopping and washing dish-ware).
Upholding local Health code standards for food service.

Compensation:

Candidate must:
Be friendly and polite in a fast-paced customer service environment.
Be available to work both weekend days.
Are able to lift 30-40lbs.
Are able to stand for long periods of time.
Are able to work quickly & accurately when needed.
Are able to work & communicate in team environment.
Are able to rise early.
Can regularly work between the hours of 6am-4pm. During holidays hours may differ.
