Food Service Assistant
Monday-Thursday, 8:30-2:00, 22 hours per week, $19.50 per hour. Job includes full benefits.
Job responsibilities:
Preparing and serving lunch at the Cambridge Senior Center. 806 Mass Ave Cambridge MA
- Managing reservations and communicating food order to office
- Assisting Food Service with all aspects of food service as required, including participant check-in, receiving deliveries, managing inventory, food preparation, service, and clean up.
- Maintaining food safety standards.
- Maintaining kitchen sanitation.
- Occasional assistance with other Senior Center events during work ours
- Providing warm and welcome atmosphere for Senior Center participants
- Occasional help with Senior Center activities
- Providing coverage for Food Service Manager in their absence
Requirements include:
- Friendly and sociable
- Food safety certification (agency will provide training and test)
- Responsible and reliable
- 2 years food service experience preferred
- Ability to lift 15-20 pounds
