This is a great opportunity for candidates who are invested in empowering young people and have a strong sense of social justice.Friends of the Children-Boston was founded in 2004 with a mission to impact generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors—12+ years, no matter what.Our Youth Advocates/Professional Mentors show up in many different spaces and ways: collaborating closely with caregivers, partnering with teachers and school administration, participating in group work to promote pro-social peer relationships, and working to set goals each year with our young people that are anchored in research and what is most important to our young people.This position will report directly to the Assistant Program Director and will work directly with 8-10 youth providing them with 16+ hours of direct and indirect services. Our team works 40-hour weeks and our traditional work hours are 11am-7pm Monday through Friday, with flexibility of possible morning, evening and occasional weekend time for events. This position is primarily a youth-facing position; anchored in consistent and persistent advocacy for the young people inour program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry, fundraising support, admin and planning time, communication with key stakeholders in youth’s life, transportation support, and event and group planning.This position is right for you if:● You believe in the capacity of young people to succeed and will do whatever it takes to support them in that pursuit.● You are committed to providing relentless support to achievers and their families through complex challenges.● You are positive, collaborative, and resourceful. The starting salary for this position is $55,000.
