​This job is a member of the Inspection Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

​Responsible for supervising the American Airlines Line Maintenance Organization.

Also responsible for supervising the proper administration of the American Airlines Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, major repair reporting, receiving, training and rejection/buy back.

What you'll do

Monitors compliance with the approved AA Maintenance Program and applicable CFR

Maintains Inspection staff compliance with the designated QC and maintenance program and as directed by QC Manager

Ensures Inspection staff is following methods as required to maintain product quality necessary to meet AA standards and FAA government regulations

Supervises and manages union workforce of inspectors in the performance of their day-to-day accomplishment of audits, visual inspection, functional testing measurements, non-destructive testing, borescope and work finding of airframes components/engines repaired, serviced and / or modified by Production employees

Leads team that monitors work in progress for workmanship also for compliance with regulatory requirements and American Airlines policies, standards and procedures

Notifies and assists line maintenance in initiating the appropriate corrective actions as needed

Leads team that Audits completed tasks to assure physical work accomplished matches the provided instructions

Documents and reports any deficiencies to American Airline Quality Control leadership

Works directly with other local support teams

Builds strong dependable relationships with other supporting departments

Accomplishes corporate objectives by facilitating the active participation of all team members and by identifying and removing obstacles to achieve desired results

Certifies the air worthiness of aircraft released for service and the return of components and federal regulations

Ensures inspectors possess proper qualifications to perform their assigned duties properly and efficiently

Recommends new and revised procedures / programs for upgrading quality systems as needed, includes special assignments as directed by management

Occasional travel domestic and/or international will be required in addition to rotating shifts, nights, weekends and/or non-standard work weeks

Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to for privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicable

All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalency ​

4 years experience in the operation and repair of air carrier maintenance programs

Experience equivalent to undergraduate degree or similar technical school

Experience in managing teams and utilizing continuous improvement processes

Experience in monitoring and improving organizational performance

Experience in monitoring and improving organizational performance

Expence in monitoring and improving organizational performance

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field

5 years' experience in a supervisor role, overseeing the repair of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs, Aircraft Training, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Embraer Commercial Aircraft

Prior leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, crew chief, community, organizational)

Experience in using Operating Rhythm to monitor and improve organizational performance, with an emphasis on the ability to develop and implement shop level metrics

Project Management experience

Certified in use of Lean Six Sigma tools

Prior leadership experience (e.g., supervisor, crew chief, community, organizational)

Experience in using Operating Rhythm to monitor and improve organizational performance, with an emphasis on the ability to develop and implement shop level metrics

Project Management experience

Certified in use of Lean Six Sigma tools

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

​FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license

Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills

Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time

Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Basic understanding of SCEPTRE TechOps System
