Structural Engineer - Transportation

AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to be based in Boston, MA, Chelmsford, MA, or Manchester, NH. In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and other states through AECOM’s Northeast region.This position is an opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges and career development opportunities.The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:Lead Structural Engineer on projects including reviewing designs and plans.Provides specialized technical input on transportation related projects.Manages bridge projects including design tasks and coordinating work with engineering staff.Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of new bridges utilizing pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber components.Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing bridges.Load evaluation of existing bridges.Prepares technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited inspection during construction.Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
