Description There's currently a long-term contract / temporary to hire position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half in the Real Estate & Property industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Boston, Massachusetts region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Responsibilities

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

Maintain monthly payment schedules

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Partake in annual closing processes

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision Requirements - Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

Excellent attention to detail

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

Microsoft Excel experience

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Recent and relevant accounting experience
