Work ScheduleOtherEnvironmental ConditionsAble to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materialsJob DescriptionJob Title: Sr. Site Specialist (Chemical Inventory)This position is located in Boston, MAWhen working with a team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, your work will have real-world impact, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safeLocation/Division Specific InformationThis role focuses on service delivery quality for Unity Lab Services, a division of Thermo Fisher responsible for providing onsite services at customers locations. We provide services at over 400 customer sites globally.What will you do?

Perform functional tasks/operations within the chemical management database

Provide chemical assessments as required in support of Research operations

Provide basic and advanced client reports as needed, including operational Metrics

Provide training on operational and database processes to teammates

Conduct/coordinate/support a physical inventory (‘Lab Audit’) program for the site

Provide support for onsite chemical storage, review, evaluation, and purge

Sustain and maintain chemical stockroom inventory

Review, build, and maintain company data log sheets

Pickup of hazardous waste

Registration of chemicals into a chemical database

Delivery of chemical packages within a laboratory environment

Ordering of stockroom supplies

Education:Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma or GEDAssociates Degree, Biotechnology Course Certificate preferredExperience:3+ years of relevant experience preferredExcellent customer service skills requiredExperience in laboratory setting or services preferred; experience in cGMP environment preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Requires the ability to read, write and speak English

Demonstrate verbal, written and presentation skills

Maintain a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher

Maintains Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values

Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment

Have strong social skills to communicate with various levels of personnel at the customer site

Maintain a professional appearance at all times

Must possess the operating skills to use hand held scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as needed

Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software

Demonstrates basic leadership abilities

Have shown initiative in previous work experience

Show concern for well being and success of others

Must possess professional interpersonal skills to provide mentorship to others in performing the work, to optimally present information and respond to questions or customer service requests

Ability to provide suggestions for corrective action and preventive customer service

Must be organized and detail oriented to prioritize own and other’s work and meet business needs

Able to apply good judgment and decision-making skills in taking care of a variety of routine and non-routine issues
