With a broad focus to develop injection device platforms and novel delivery devices to improve patient care, the group focuses in serving as a Center of Excellence in the following areas
Injection physiology (across various injection barriers) and new device ideation including modeling and simulation
Develop Novel Drug Delivery technologies (for various modalities and routes of administration) to create next gen patient centric medicines
Nanomedicine and Targeted delivery
Connected devices, digital biomarkers
We are seeking a highly collaborative and self-motivated professional with experience in CNS drug delivery to:Key Responsibilities
Serve as a bridge between discovery and medical device teams to enable matrixed collaboration on projects/technologies to achieve creative results for impact on Neuroscience portfolio (early development).
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to formulate preclinical study designs aligned with industry best practices to characterize biodistribution, in-vivo efficacy and other effects of drugs dosed directly to the CNS.
Identify best in class preclinical CROs, lead/contribute to protocol design, plan, schedule and execute studies at CROs, analyze, interpret and communicate study results to relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with the device design team to optimize/simplify direct to CNS drug delivery including interventional approaches.
Be up to date with relevant scientific literature, share findings with stakeholders and provide expert input toward optimizing drug delivery to the CNS.
Develop/train junior team members as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
PhD in neurobiology or related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industrial/post-doctoral experience
In vivo animal research experience is required.
Knowledge of CNS anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry to help develop and support in vivo models is required.
Knowledge of direct to CNS drug delivery technologies is required
Knowledge of modeling and simulation to understand molecular transport within the CNS is preferred
Self-motivated, dedicated and adaptable to change
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary matrix environment and adaptability to changes in priorities.
Able to work well within a team.
Able to travel 25 % of the time to study sites and headquarters.
