Job Type: RegularTime Type: Full timeWork Shift: Day (United States of America)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.Mobility Aides will have the opportunity to work with a variety of medically-complex patients in medical/surgical specialties and cardiac medicine spending their time getting patients out of bed and walking them in to the hallways throughout the day.Job Description:Essential Responsibilities:

Assists therapists and nursing staff with direct patient care as needed by turning, positioning, transferring or ambulating patients. Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for injury by implementing safety interventions or using appropriate ambulatory assistive devices.

Sets up appropriate equipment as directed for therapy treatment session; wipes down all surfaces with appropriate antibacterial solution. Puts away all supplies at the end of session. Is available on pager to all therapists, therapy assistants and nursing staff to provide necessary equipment at bedside as requested.

Performs regular sweeps of all patient areas to locate ambulatory assistive devices and returns them to their proper location.

Performs routine clerical and administrative tasks as directed, including using the computer, copier, fax machine and telephone.

Orders Durable Medical Equipment from vendors.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required.

Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.

0-1 years related work experience required.

New hires will have 60 days to provide BLS certification. Certification has to be with the American Heart Association (AHA).

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.

Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:Very Heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force continually.
