Why This Role is Important to Us:Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) is thrilled once again to host its Summer Internship Program for clinical and non-clinical departments!The Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students from across the country. Internships are a valuable way for students to obtain real-world experience, gain exposure to a specific field, build their network for the future, and support our members and communities. This program is a great way for CCA to attract and develop exceptional talent as we continue to grow.The Public Affairs intern will support the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs in Washington, DC. The Public Affairs team is made of the Federal Policy & Advocacy, State policy, Advocacy and Community Relations, and Communications. the intern will conduct several projects all three departments. Position will be remote with the opportunity to travel to Boston and Washington, DC.What You'll Be Doing:Will spend equal time with the Federal and State Policy & Advocacy teams as well as the communications team, Federal & State Affairs

Attend virtual and in-person policy briefings, legislative hearings and other public events and report key takeaways to the Public Affairs team.

Update CCA’s policy library which houses CCA’s policy positions that will be usable by teams across CCA.

Support notetaking and summarizing of health plan association meeting discussions, relevant webinars, Hearings, and other virtual & in person

Assist in the development of written materials for lobbying meetings .

Conducting policy research to support written materials and CCA positioning.

Communications

Internal- Work on the intranet site, articles, and key leaderships communication

External – Annual report, press releases, member stories

Additional Information

All internships will be paid standard and competitive rates for undergraduate and graduate levels ($23 and $25 per hour respectively). Internships are expected to be full-time through the duration of the program.

What We're Looking For:Required:

Undergraduate student currently enrolled or a recent graduate within the last 2 years

OR

Graduate student currently enrolled or a recent graduate within the last 2 years

No relevant experience is necessary, but the candidate should be a Political Science Major with a strong interest in the legislative process.

Excellent collaboration and writing skills

An interest in policy/politics/government affairs.
