This Position is Contingent on Contract Award.This position is in support of a proposed repatriation initiative.  The purpose of the facilities is to provide comprehensive care for migrant individuals who are awaiting reunification or repatriation.  This care will begin as soon as each occupant arrives at the facility and will last until their arranged departure. The comprehensive care includes but is not limited to initial screening and exams, identifications of prior conditions and allergies, day to day care of routine, urgent and emergency medical conditions.     The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide urgent and compassionate care to occupants of the facility.  This role involves triaging patients, performing assessments, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes. Key Responsibilities:Conduct thorough assessments and triage of immigrants presenting with various medical conditions. Provide immediate and appropriate nursing care while ensuring a culturally sensitive approach to treatment. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care in an understandable manner. Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in accordance with policies and regulatory standards. Organize and participate in emergency response efforts, ensuring a safe environment. Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.  Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications.   Proactively and independently administer basic and urgent/emergent care, including but not limited to inserting catheters with blood specimen collection, urine collection and EKG’s, visual acuity, basic wound care, and changing bandages. Provides support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions. Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.  Restocking clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.  Is accountable for maintaining and improving own physician knowledge and skill competence.  Provides patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients in the clinic.   Supports the International Health and Medical Services philosophy, objectives and goals and organization mission and vision.  Respects and supports patient rights.  Fosters constructive relationships as a team member within assigned department and with the members of other departments.  Maintains professional conduct.  Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
