Global Marble & Granite is seeking a technician for laser templating and CAD programming to help manufacture granite & quartz countertops in our state-of-the-art facility located in Hyannis, MA.
This position will be responsible for accurately measuring and creating templates for residential projects using an LT-2D3D digital laser template machine.
Projects include fireplaces, countertops, bathroom vanities and custom fabrications; person must be very well versed and able to do custom projects
Responsibilities
Commercial and residential work required – will be working with homeowners as well as general contractors and millwork companies.
Using a laser and digital software you will create accurate digital drawings of countertops
You will be completing templates notating all required measurements, polished edges, radiuses and any other relevant job details
Ability to use laser templating equipment.
Professional experience with a focus on precise measurements and high attention to detail. This position involves accurately measuring countertops and areas of stone application to ensure precise and efficient fabrication
You will be responsible for creating and modifying drawings to efficiently lay out the cutting path on the selected slabs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD experience and/or experience with other CAD/CAM software.
This is a full-time, hourly, weekday position. Occasional Saturdays may be required, but the shop is closed Sundays and most major holidays.
Responsibilities
Create and modify CAD drawings for natural stone countertops according to client specifications, architectural plans, and shop drawings.
Use software to program Baca Systems robotic saw jet machine to cut and shape stone countertops.
Lay out the pieces on selected slabs to ensure maximum yield and minimal waste.
Work collaboratively with designers, installers, and production staff to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of designs.
Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Review and approve final CAD drawings before fabrication and installation.
Maintain accurate records of design changes and modifications.
Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD, AlphaCam, Moraware, Slabsmith, or similar CAD/CAM software.
Experience in drafting and designing architectural plans or kitchen and bath layouts.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to deal with employees and customers. (Must speak English, Portuguese a plus)
Knowledge of the granite industry and fabrication techniques is a plus.
Experience programming CNC machines is also a plus
