Project Lead - Program Manager

What great looks like in this role
  • The Project Lead will be responsible for coordinating a high priority information governance project with multiple workstreams.
  • The workstreams will involve team members in multiple disciplines and geographies, and collaboration with business teams will be required.
  • The Project Lead can work independently as a project leader using agile practices, while managing several teams simultaneously.
  • The Project Lead will remove obstacles for the team, manage risks and issues, and ensure appropriate escalation.
  • The Project Lead will ensure that the tasks and documentation associated with the project is up to date and complete.
  • A comfortable understanding of tools including Jira, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint, Advanced eDiscovery, O365, and GSuite is essential.

Description
  • Financial has recognized the importance of an enterprise-wide strategy for information disposition, and we are seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual with strong a servant leadership and project leadership background to support a large project sponsored by the Data Purpose and Protection team within the Privacy, Data and AI Governance organization. The team embodies a culture of working collaboratively, cross-functionally, and using new technologies, all in support of a culture of innovation and collaboration. A background in information governance, standards and controls writing, and change management will be a plus.

Objectives of the role
  • Drive continuous delivery of incremental goals to support the information disposition project
  • Deliver project objectives on-time, with quality, within scope and budget
  • Foster a culture of transparency and collaboration
  • Develop, manage, monitor, and report on all project tasks, activities, expectations, controls, and deliverables.
  • Provide management status at required cadence.
  • Understand, apply, promote, and contribute to Agile delivery methodologies, standards, and tools
  • Collaborate with product owner and provide input into and thoughtfully influence business strategies and project direction.
  • Supply accurate project estimates by influencing overall design and estimation processes.
  • Promptly identify resource constraints and actively manage resource plan by coordinating across teams and with other project and scrum leads.
  • Remain focused on big picture and prioritize competing responsibilities, while also managing daily team tasks.
  • Provide solutions and continuous improvement opportunities to efficiently solve problems.
  • Listen and effectively communicate with clarity and precision.
  • Build relationships to influence and inspire across a matrixed organization (i.e., without control or positional authority).
  • Effectively negotiate priorities and solutions.
  • Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future use.
  • 5+ years of Agile project delivery experience required, preferably with enterprise-wide programs
  • 10+ years project management experience
  • 3+ years of change management experience

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Information governance background
  • Experience with data governance, privacy, and compliance
  • Standards and controls writing experience
  • Financial services experience
  • Prosci certification
  • Scrum certification
  • CRA or CRM certification

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required or HS Diploma/GED with 10+ years' experience as program manager required
