Part-Time After School Teacher (West Newton)
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children?! Come join our team at Peirce Extended Day Program in West Newton! We're seeking several creative, enthusiastic, motivated, well-rounded individuals to join our teaching staff. This position begins in late August of 2024 and goes through June 2025. PEDP is an after school enrichment program offering a variety of activities (arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, music, theater, STEM, field trips, etc.) to children in grades K-5. Applicants must have experience with this age group. Daily Schedule:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 2:00 – 6:00 pm AND Wednesdays 11:00 – 6:00 pm
24-26 hours per week (attendance at Tuesday morning staff meetings = 26)
Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on education and/or experience
Qualifications (not intended to be comprehensive):
An acceptable review of Criminal Background Record Check (including fingerprinting), Department of Social Services Background Record Check
Desire to work with children and families
Ability to deal effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Ability to walk distances required for field trips
Ability to be outside for 30-45 minutes per day determined by the PEDP weather policy
