Energy Fitness & Gymnastics is hiring a Full-Time Recreational Gymnastics Coach.

Energy Fitness and Gymnastics, located in Newton is hiring individuals who are passionate about working with kids! We use gymnastics as a tool to enhance emotional, cognitive, social, and physical growth. We look to nurture our students overall development, confidence, and life skills through gymnastics.

We welcome individuals without a gymnastics or sports background, as we provide comprehensive training to all our coaches. Some of our current coaches joined us with no prior experience in gymnastics, either as students or instructors, and have successfully learned to teach through our program. They now play a key role in supporting our mission by contributing to the personal and physical development of our students.

Responsibilities

- Teach gymnastics skills appropriate for the child’s age and developmental stage, focusing on motor skills such as balance, coordination, and flexibility.

- Plan and lead gymnastics classes, ensuring a safe and engaging environment

- Foster social skills by encouraging teamwork, cooperation, and peer interaction during group activities and classes.

- Support emotional growth by helping children manage emotions like frustration, fear, or excitement during challenging tasks.

- Encourage confidence-building by celebrating small successes and promoting a growth mindset.

- Adapt coaching strategies to accommodate the individual developmental needs of each child, recognizing that every child learns differently.

- Use gymnastics as a tool for cognitive growth by challenging children to follow instructions, sequence movements, and solve physical problems

- Help children build resilience by teaching them how to face challenges, persevere through difficulties, overcome fears, have discipline, patience, responsibility, and accountability.

- Communicate effectively with children in a way that is both supportive and instructive, considering their emotional and cognitive development.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience working with students in a coaching or teaching capacity

- Knowledge or experience in gymnastics or related disciplines such as Judo, Martial Arts, Basketball, Swimming, Climbing, Karate, or Physical Education

- Strong communication skills to effectively instruct and interact with students

- Ability to adapt coaching techniques to meet the needs of individual students

- Patience and enthusiasm for working with children and helping them develop their skills

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 hours per week
