Book Lover Wanted For What May Be Worst Job In The World Editor-in-Chief of Small Traditional Publisher. Small independent book publisher seeks person with experience in book publishing to be a Renaissance juggler and jack-of-all-trades and run the company. Work would not include royalty management or payouts, or major marketing tasks, but it would include: initial screening of author submissions, collecting information for author contracts and getting standard contracts signed (any variations are handled by company counsel), working with company's three acquisitions editors on staff (and others on contract as needed) coordinating editing by others, proofreading publication scheduling, cover preparation and coordination, getting final books posted and/or provided to company's traditional distribution partner, coordinating with third party marketing and PR vendors, helping develop book's marketing plan, interacting with authors, and coordinating author book purchases. Pay commensurate with experience, but in range of $50k-60k, in addition to a share of profits. If you’re crazy enough to be interested, we'd love to hear from you.
