COMPANY OVERVIEW
MSIC is an insurer of excess deposits for member credit unions. In addition to its insurance role, the Company owns a multi-tenant, commercial real estate property. Also, the Company owns an interest in a growing partnership which currently provides mortgage services to credit unions. This partnership will expand to provide additional services to credit unions.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a full-time Controller to manage and oversee the daily accounting functions. In addition, this person will assist the Treasurer with both routine and special operations and finance projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and is comfortable learning new software programs. The successful candidate will possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree. The position requires the ability to handle complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills. Financial institution industry and CPA credentials are a plus. Please note, that MSIC implements a mandatory COVID vaccination workplace policy. The position reports to the Treasurer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting, including maintenance of balance sheets, schedules and ledgers
Monthly closes of the three entities
Assistance with preparation for the annual external audits for the three entities
Assistance with preparation for the periodic examinations by the MA Division of Banks
Assistance with ongoing analysis of member credit unions
Assistance with the preparation of quarterly financial information to be submitted to Audit and Investment
Committees
Assistance with accounting, finance, and operations projects
Other finance and treasury related functions
