Our nurses have been the recipients of many Daisy awards including the Team Daisy Award. We have an established unit practice council and have a dedicated Clinical Nursing Educator. J5 is a 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit combined with a thirteen-bed pediatric unit. The pediatric area specializes in the delivery of comprehensive medical and surgical care of the pediatric patient from neonate to 18 years of age.The most frequent medical diagnoses for adult medical patients are · COPD · Pneumonia · Uncontrolled diabetes and sequelae · AKI · Sepsis · Cellulitis · Diverticulitis · Abdominal pain weakness/fall The most frequent medical diagnoses for pediatric patients are asthma bronchiolitis pneumonia UTI abdominal pain dehydration cellulitis behavioral feverPediatrics is affiliated with Boston Children’s Hospital and is supported by Boston Children’s physicians.Required Qualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred· Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts· Basic Life Support (BLS) required· Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred.· Pediatric experience preferredAs a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
