Department Summary:The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Business Transformation Department is seeking an experienced, motivated, and creative business transformation practitioner who has a passion for solving problems through innovative solutions that help make government better. As a key member of our team, you will help the IRS and Tax Administration Division (ITA) gain and maintain preeminent status as the thought leader and trusted advisor with IRS sponsors as they engage in modernization and transformation activities, spanning people, processes, technology, and data. You will experience technical growth and be continually challenged with interesting problems. Most importantly, you will have both the opportunity and responsibility to ensure that your work improves taxpayer satisfaction and yields practical effects for the general public.Roles & Responsibilities:As a member of the IRS Business Transformation department, you will work on multidisciplinary teams to provide technical capabilities in the area of strategic management, performance management, business process engineering, customer experience, and human capital development.You will be expected to support strategic guidance to senior level sponsors by:

Helping sponsors define their vision, mission and business goals

Developing enterprise performance management & measurement plans that increase sponsor effectiveness in achieving mission outcomes

Collaborating with sponsors to develop and deploy transformational capabilities that improve efficiency in business operations

Supporting sponsor’s ability to adapt and innovate in the face of emerging threats and opportunities

Helping to position human capital organizations to meet the needs of the transformed operations

Provide user research to identify opportunities to improve user experiences resulting in higher taxpayer satisfaction measures

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and handle diverse assignments simultaneously

A passion for learning and for helping others to learn

Strong written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to tailor message for a specific audience

Ability to obtain and maintain IRS Suitability clearance

This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or other advanced degree in related field

Experience working in a consulting role

Experience working with the Federal government

Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and organizational change

Ability to understand, balance, and articulate both strategic and tactical planning

Demonstrated ability to engage with executive and C-suite levels
