Payroll Specialist

Description We are in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry and are currently searching for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team in Agawam, Massachusetts. This role is crucial for the successful administration and processing of our payroll system. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately process employee payroll on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments, including but not limited to overtime, bonuses, commissions, and benefits. Prepare and facilitate the distribution of payroll checks or direct deposits to employees. Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain payroll records and employee information in line with confidentiality and data protection policies. Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management review and analysis. Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure that all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines. Proficiently use payroll software systems including ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, Kronos Timekeeping System, 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR).Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must. Familiarity with Ceridian and IBM AS/400 would be beneficial. Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System is important. Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration is needed. Proficiency in About Time software is advantageous. Familiarity with general Accounting Functions is necessary. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is critical. A background in Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry is preferred. Demonstrable experience as a Payroll Specialist is crucial.
