Job SummaryThe Critical Facility Technician (CFT) shall service building equipment as required at CMI’s customer site in Fredrick, Maryland.Key Job FunctionsResponsible for properly performing all manual electrical operations on 15kV and 480 volt switchgear and switchboards to include but not limited to, racking circuit breakers in and out, manually opening and closing circuit breakers, transferring power between main and tie circuit breakers and manually operating the CUP in the event the Siemens PCS7 system is not operational.  Equipment in the CUP includes but is not limited to chillers; cooling towers; HRC; air handlers; primary, secondary and latent chilled water pumps; condenser water pumps; hot water heating pumps; plate and frame heat exchangers and associated chilled water side heat exchanger pumps.  Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair (new or replacement) parts for existing units covered under classified procedures, according to specifications and established safety guidelines, relying on MOPs, manufacturer’s literature, and industry best practices to perform tasks under supervisionEnsure activities are logged in the CMMS.Perform a daily walk-through of facility documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature and humidity, alarm status, etc. to be catalogued and compared for identification of discrepancies and trends. Navigate and verify the nominal status of electrical and mechanical infrastructure via the BAS and PCS systems, following site MOP and SOP procedures.
