Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain health by delivering physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Contribute to the effectiveness of the physical therapist by identifying patient care issues and providing support as needed.
Administer treatment programs for patients, following prescribed protocols and guidelines.
Assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of therapy histories.
Evaluate abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
Document patient care services accurately and comprehensively in patient and department records.
Perform therapeutic procedures, including manual exercises, and provide guidance and assistance to patients in performing physical activities.
Assist patients in using supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and promote wellness and health maintenance.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Monitor treatment trends and ensure compliance with production objectives.
Maintain legal and accreditation compliance by following federal, state, and local regulations, as well as JACHO standards.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices by participating in educational opportunities, reading relevant literature, and engaging with professional organizations.
Enhance the reputation of the physical therapy department by proactively seeking opportunities to add value and accomplish new objectives.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices
