Aplica ya

DescriptionICF is seeking an early-career PhD- or PsyD-trained Psychologist with a clinical, counseling, or community psychology background; and at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Washington, DC Metro Area. This is not a psychological service delivery position . Rather, the position supports the DoD’s clinical community by collecting, developing, and maintaining clinical support products that provide evidence-based information regarding behavioral health practices across the DoD; and by coordinating and facilitating working groups and events geared toward enhancing mental health care throughout the DoD. All our work is evidence-based. As such, the position also assists in collecting and conducting research to respond to congressional inquiries, requests for briefs on military mental health from senior leadership, and providing other information regarding the state of military mental health and ethical issues related to military health care. We are therefore seeking a mental health professional who also has a sound background in research that compliments their clinical experience. The selected candidate will have demonstrable experience with aspects of behavioral treatment, issues, and techniques with psychological conditions of most relevance to the military (e.g., substance misuse, trauma resulting from combat and/or sexual assault, suicide risk assessment and intervention, etc.); and prior experience working with underserved populations. This is a hybrid position, working from client site in Silver Spring, MD, a minimum of 1 day per week, based on client needs.Duties and responsibilities:

Provide presentations on military behavioral healthcare that can be delivered both in person and via webinar

Provide SME support for initiatives focused on evidence-based psychological health efforts for a variety of psychological conditions

Provide evidence-informed and agency-defensible written responses to high-level requests for information, sometimes within a very short turn-around time

Conduct literature and policy reviews and environmental scans to parsimoniously inform decision-makers of key findings and gaps in the extant literature

Assist with the development of clinical support products, including succinct written materials or infographics providing psychoeducation and overviews of best practices for providers, patients, and their families (e.g., Clinical Support Tools and Practice Guides)

Accommodate feedback received from multiple client sources on written products to align with agency messaging and strategy

Monitor current research in topics relevant to military mental health

Regularly provide logistics and meeting support (scheduling, producing minutes, facilitating, etc.) for mental health-related working groups

Regularly document progress, challenges, and risks for ongoing projects and provide regular updates to leadership

Prepare data for leadership reports, scientific presentations, and publications

Attend focus groups and briefings

Track, monitor, and evaluate product progress to provide input on weekly status reports

Regularly perform administrative and operations support duties as needed
